Bashundhara Technical Institute Takes Off

High officials of Bashundhara Group are also seen in the picture July 06, 2010: Bashundhara Technical Institute, a high-tech non-profit institution of its kind, has formally started its journey this afternoon (July 06, 2010). Chief Advisor of the Bashundhara Group Mr. Mahaboob Morshed Hassan announced formal functioning of the institute and welcomed the first batch students after special prayer at its campus in Bashundhara Residential Area today. Additional Managing Director of the Bashundhara Group Mr. Safwan Sobhan joined the function as the special guest. Advisor Press and Media of the Bashundhara Group Mohammad Abu Tayeb, Principal of the institute Mr. Nazrul Islam Biswas, Executive Director Md. Fakhruddin, Executive Director (HR & Admin) Brigadier General (Retd) Muktadir Arif and General Manager of the Bashundhara Foundation Mr. AKM Nowsherul Alam also present at the occasion. Meanwhile the departments of the institute have started the classes of the first batch with about 250 students from July 01, 2010. Bashundhara Technical Institute offers short courses on welding, plumbing and fitting, electrical house wiring, refrigerator and air-conditioning and motor driving and automobile mechanism. Diplomas recognized by the Technical Education Board of Bangladesh will be conferred to the successful graduates of the institute in different courses and trades. In the view to generate skilled technicians for home and external market, the Bashundhara Foundation has established the Bashundhara Technical Institute that the youths of the country opportunities to receive vocational training to change their lot. In addition to the low course fees, the institute gives installment facility for the insolvent students. There is a huge demand of skilled manpower in the developed country and Bashundhara Technical institute vows to produce skilled manpower for those country. The General Manager of the Bashundhara Foundation AKM Nowsherul Alam said, “Bashundhara foundation operates different activities to bring the positive changes in the society. Bashundhara has established this vocational institute to meet the demand of skilled manpower in the country and abroad. It is hoped that our students will be valued everywhere after successful completion of their courses”. He said that the students will get the chance to work with the different concerns of Bashundhara Group according to their merit after the completion of their courses. He believes that the institute will serve the nation producing highly skilled workforce. The institute will play a vital role in producing efficient workforce as they are going to introduce new courses soon. Nearly 20000 students will be trained in different programs from this institution within five years. The guests went around the institution after the inauguration and expressed their satisfaction with the set up of the institution.
