Bashundhara Foundation's donation to Bancharampur Muktijoddha Sangsad

Pic2 Dhaka, April 15, 2010: Bashundhara Foundation, a non-profit social organisation of Bashundhara Group, has donated Tk 1 lakh to Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Bancharampur Command for renovation of its office. The cheque was formally handed over by Bashundhara Group's Senior Executive Director (Accounts and Finance) Maynal Hossain Chowdhury to Bancharampur Upazila Chairman Shahidul Islam in presence freedom fighters of the area at a simple ceremony held at its office premises on Thursday. In his welcome address on the occasion, Mr Maynal said Bashundhara Group is working for the welfare of the country and its people as a whole and also working for the development of the Bancharampur upazila specially as it is the ancestral home and birthplace of the group's honorable chairman. He also said, as part of that commitment Bashundhara Group has employed 900 unskilled workers as permanent employee along with some high officials and also employed 400 workers are on the process of getting their job status as permanent. In his brief speech, Upazila Chairman Shahidul Islam lauded the contribution of the Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan's respectable family in the development of the locality. He also criticised the harassment of BG chairman and prayed for his long life and good health. Commander of the Muktijoddha Sangsad Bancharampur Command Golam Ishaq also addressed the programme and thanked Bashundhara Group for its donation and goodwill gesture to the freedom fighters.
