Bashundhara Shuvosangho Provide 20 Women Sewing Machines in Natore

Women trained for three months receive machines, aiming for self-reliance and financial independence

Bashundhara Shuvosangho, a humanitarian initiative of Bashundhara Group, has gifted sewing machines to 20 underprivileged women in Natore's Lalpur Upazila.

The sewing machines were handed over to the widows and helpless women of Debarpara Budhirampur village of the upazila on Sunday after three months of training to make them self-reliant.

Lalpur unit Bashundhara Shuvosangho President and Coordinator of Shuvosangho School Jalal Uddin Babu presided over the sewing machine distribution ceremony while Member of Parliament from Natore-1 (Lalpur-Bagatipara Constituency) Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest.

Abul Kalam Azad said Bashundhara Group has set an example in the country through social and humanitarian works. They provided sewing machines to the underprivileged women free of cost. It is an admirable initiative.

He said that with an aim of changing the fate of the people of the country and building the Smart Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established schools to improve the quality of education in the remote areas of my constituency.

He also said that the PM established sewing training centers to improve the quality of life of the helpless, widows, orphans, poor, and disadvantaged women.

Rezaul Karim Reza, adviser of Natore district unit of Shuvosangho and president of United Press Club, said that the members of Shuvosangho are working to find out the poor and helpless people all over the country with the help of Bashundhara Group.

Upazila Women Affairs’ Officer Shahina Sultana, Lalpur UP Chairman Abu Bakar Siddique Palash, Mazar Sharif TBM College Principal Imam Hasan Mukti spoke among others.
