A number of 27 devotees are going to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah under financial support of the Bashundhara Group.
They are on board an aircraft of the Gulf Airlines which takes off in the wee hours of Thursday.
Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir has created the opportunity for the insolvent people to perform Umrah.
In the last Ramadan, Anvir, also the Chief Adviser to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee, pledged to send 104 devotees to perform Umrah.
As part of the commitment, the largest business conglomerate of the country earlier sent two groups who performed Umrah under the financial support.
On the eve of the flight, a special prayer session was held at the office of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee in Dhaka Wednesday night.
Musalli Committee general secretary Mizanur Rahman Manik, organising secretary Md Nasir Uddin Gazi, social welfare secretary Nazmul Huda, Bashundhara Group’s Umrah coordinator Md Amir Hossain Mia, among others, were present at the prayer session.
Md Shahjahan, a hawker of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque footpath, comprises the third kafela.
In a reaction, he said “I am grateful to Chief Adviser to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee Sayem Sobhan Anvir for creating the rare scope. May Allah ensure all the goods for him.”
The first kafela comprising 26 devotees returned home after performing Umrah on December 18. After eight days, 33 devotees under second kafela had left Dhaka for the purpose.
Eakub Ali, President of Musalli Committee, said the fourth kafela consisting of 18 devotees will also go for Umrah very soon.
