Bashundhara Group (BG), the leading business conglomerate of the country, is now exporting tissue and various paper products to 16 countries after fulfilling local demand.
The Bashundhara Tissue has extended its market in different Asian and African countries including India, Sri Lanka, Arab Emirates, Mauritius and Tunisia. In Bangladesh, the products are being used not only in urban areas but also in remote areas of the country as the purchasing power of the customers has increased. Senior Advisor (Research and Development) of Bashundhara Group AR Rashidi made the disclosure while addressing a two-day orientation programme of representatives of Bashundhara Tissue Paper and hygiene products held at Bashundhara Convention Centre at Baridhara in the city on Sunday. AR Rashidi said, “Bashundhara Group started its journey in the mid of 1987 with real estate business and in 1993 it emerged as a group of companies.” He added: “The way of industrialization was not easy when Bashundhara Group started its journey. It achieved its present position after overcoming many obstacles.” The wholesalers and retailers coming from across the country attended the orientation programme. The orientation programme was addressed, among others, by Bashundhara Group Adviser (Public Relations) and Head of Human Resources and Administration Department Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khandaker Abdul Wahed and Head of Bashundhara Paper and Hygiene Products Division Mujibur Rahman.
