Bashundhara Cement, a concern of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, signed an agreement with Sinohydro Corporation, a Chinese company which got the contract for river training project of Padma Bridge.
Under the agreement, Bashundhara Group will supply a total of 2.5 lakh tonnes of Bashundhara Cement during the four-year river training project.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, and Qu Yan, Project Manager, Sinohydro Corporation, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies at Hotel Westin in the capital on Thursday.
Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir, Vice-Chairman, and Safwan Sobhan, Additional Managing Director of the Bashundhara Group, and Zhu Kesheng, Deputy Project Manager of Sinohydro Corporation, were present at the signing ceremony.
MD Jamilur Rahman, Acting Editor, daily sun, Imdadul Haq Milon, Editor, Kaler Kantho, Naem Nizam, Editor, Bangladesh Pratidin, Alamgir Hossain, Editor-in-Chief of banglanews, Mohammad Abu Tayeb, Advisor (press and media) of Bashundhara Group, Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, publisher of three newspapers of East West Media Group Limited, were also present at the event.
Recently, the management of Sinohydro Corporation visited the factories of Bashundhara Cement that produces high quality cement using VRM technology. After assessing the quality of the cement, production capability of the factories and supply system, the company decided to use Bashundhara Cement at their river training project.
