Bashundhara Group has provided flood-affected people of two unions in Manikganj with food items as part of its continuous support.
Some 500 families in Alokdia Char and Char Shibaloy under Shibaloy upazila received the food aid of Bashundhra on Thursday.
Manikganj Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Among others, Shibaloy Assistant Commissioner (Land) Farasit Alam, Upzaila Vice Chairmen Miraz Hossain and Runa Aktar, Shibalaya union parishad chairman Alal Hossain and Teota UP chairman Abdul Quader were present.
In his address, DC SM Ferdous said Bashundhara Group is an example of humanitarian approach for its continuous support to the flood victims and other helpless people.
He expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for playing philanthropic role for the betterment of the society.
“Bashundhara Group Chairman's chief advisor Mahbub Morshed Hasan Runu maintained regular contact with district administration for reaching out to flood affected people ,” Manikganj DC said.
Talking to journalist, Advisor Mahbub Morshed Hasan Runu said the business cogmolarate has provided 10,000 flood affected families with masks, hand sanitisers and medicine amid corona pandemic.
He assured that the humanitarian initiative will continue.
Bashundhara Group has been conducting relief activities in association with Manikganj District administration, police, municipalities and other stakeholders.
