Work on ICCB isolation centre progressing fast

The construction work of the country’s largest isolation centre for corona patients at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital is progressing fast.
The Convention City Authority and the Health Engineering Department (HED) are carrying out the construction work quickly to set up the 2,000-bed isolation centre, officials told reporters at the ICCB’s Trade Center on Monday.
Md Moniruzzaman Mollah, superintending engineer of the HED, Md Masudul Alam, executive engineer of the HED, M M Jasim Uddin, Head of Operations of ICCB, and other officials were present.
Bashundhara Group has dedicated its ICCB to the noble cause of treating corona patients and saving many lives.
The ICCB will be used for the time being for treatment of corona patents. After corona is over, the facility will go back to its original function housing exhibitions, trade shows and other programmes.
As the country’s largest business conglomerate, Bashundhara Group has stood by the government in the critical time of the corona pandemic. Bashundhara Group Chairman Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina proposing to set up 5,000-bed hospital.
Later, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir tendered the proposal to Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Kaikaus at the PMO. He also donated Tk 10 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
