Sheikh Jamal outplay Prime Bank in DPL

Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd thrashed Prime Bank Cricket Club by 5 wickets in their Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in the capital on Monday.
In pursuit of their third win, they went over a paltry 228-run target set by Prime Bank.
All-rounder Ziaur Rahman was the top scorer for Sheikh Jamal as he scored 67 runs from 76 balls he was also part of two partnerships which contributed 70 and 65 runs to the total, with Shykat Ali and Rakin Ahmed respectively.
Later, skipper Nurul Hasan and Tanbir Hayder blasted over the line with a 38-run match winning sixth-wicket stand.
Earlier, Prime Bank Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first. They were desiccated by pace bowler Robiul Haque who bagged three wickets as Prime Bank were bowled out for 227 runs in 50 overs.
Prime Bank skipper Mehedi Maruf was the top scorer for his side with 41 runs to his name. Most of the Prime Bank top order could not turn the good starts into a big score.
Ziaur Rahman was adjudged the man of the match for his impactful batting performance in this low scoring affair.
Meanwhile, Shinepukur Cricket Club foreign recruit Uday Kaul propelled his side to an 88-run victory over Khelaghar Samaja Kalyan Samity in their DPL match at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground 3 in Savar.
After winning the toss Khelaghar decided to put Shinepukur to bat first. Shinepukur posted a challenging total of 294 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs. Indian recruit wicketkeeper batsman Uday Kaul scored 137 off 136-ball laced with 12 boundaries and three over boundaries and also made 110-run fourth wicket stand with Afif Hossain who chipped away 43 runs.
In reply, Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity found the chase stiff and was finally dismissed at 206 in 45.4 overs.
Despite a good start by opener Rafsan Mahmud (62), Amit Mujumder (43) and Nazimuddin (24), Khelaghar lost wickets in regular intervals. Apart from Rafsan and Amit’s 49-run second wicket stand, the other remaining batsmen failed to build any effective partnership to chase the total.
Over at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited earned their second DPL 2018 win with the help of Irfan Sukkur who blasted 92 runs and crushing Agrani Bank Cricket Club by 159 runs.
Having won the toss, Agrani Bank opted to field first.
Mohammenda collected a huge total of 335 runs losing 7 wickets from their stipulated 50 overs.
Sukkur hit 8 fours and 2 sixes. In the process he was part of a 76-run sixth wicket stand with Raqibul Hasan who contributed 77-runs off 85-balls studded with eight boundaries. Later, a cameo by Bipul Sharma helped Mohammedan to set a challenging target for Agrani Bank.
Soumya Sarkar, Al-Amin Hossain and Abdur Razzak all shared two wickets each for Agrani Bank.
In reply, Agrani Bank was cheaply dismissed at 176 in 37.4 overs with Dhiman Ghosh scoring his team’s highest 40 runs.
