Bashundhara Group and Buildtrade Engineering Limited Sign Deal on Building Corporate office

Buildtrade Engineering Limited (BEL) will construct Bashundhara Group’s corporate office building in Dhaka city and Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited (BICL) in Mongla. An agreement to this effect was signed between Bashundhara Group (BG) and BEL in the city on Sunday. BG Co-Chairman Mr. Sadat Akbar Sobhan and Chairman and Managing Director of BEL Mr. Enayetur Rahman signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides. BG Chairman Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan was present at the signing ceremony held at conference room of Bashundhara Media Office in Baridhara. The corporate office building, designed as a three-storey structure, will have a space of 400,000 square feet and the industrial complex 63,000 square feet. It will take seven months to complete the construction of the corporate office building at a cost of Tk. 285 million. The construction of BICL, which requires Tk. 90 million, is expected to be completed in four months. The construction works of both the projects will start soon, officials concerned told the signing ceremony. Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, in his speech, said the structure of the corporate office would be one of the largest steel structures in the country. “It will be a model in Bangladesh,” he said. Mr. Akbar Sobhan urged the BEL authorities to bring in the latest technologies and instruments for better construction of buildings in the country. “If you can build our corporate office successfully, it will be a huge achievement,” he added. The modern corporate buildings are capable of absorbing earthquake of a magnitude of 7 in Richter Scale, the BG chairman pointed out. On the Bashundhara corporate office premises, there will be a garden, playground, swimming pool, gymnasium, various facilities for the officials and employees and also open space, Akbar Sobhan informed the gathering. Mr. Mahbub Morshed Hasan, Chief Adviser of BG, Mr. Touhidul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of East-West Development Private Ltd, Mr.Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Managing Director (Engineering), Engineer Amanullah, Senior Executive Director (Construction), Mr. Monayeem Hossain, Executive Director of Bashundhara Group, Mr. Abu Tayeeb, Media Adviser of East West Media Group Limited, Professor Dr Syed Anwar Husain, Editor of Daily Sun, Mr. Abed Khan, Editor of Kaler Kantho and Mr. Ashraf Imtiazur Rahman, Senior General Manager of BEL were present, among others.
