Int’l expos on building construction begin at ICCB

Three international tradeshows – building and construction, green architecture, wood and woodworking technology – kicked off in the city’s International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Thursday.
More than 200 organisations from 10 different countries including Bangladesh took part in the three-day long exhibitions.
Futurex Trade Fair and Events Private Limited of India and ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Limited are jointly organizing the exhibition.
Director of Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI) Mohammed Shamim Akhter, Chairman of Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association KM Akhtaruzzaman, Chairman of Bangladesh Furniture Shilpa Malik Samity Salim R Rahman and Vice President of Institute of Architects Jalal Ahmed were present at the inauguration ceremony.
Latest technology, products and solutions on architecture and construction are being displayed in the exhibitions under the same roof.
The key products and solutions are architectural hardware, building materials, MEP services, ready mix concrete equipment and brick making plant, construction machinery and equipment, sustainable architecture, woodworking machinery, furniture hardware, power tool, fittings and fixtures, laminates and boards, organisers said.
On the sideline a seminar on ‘Alternative and Affordable Green Technology’, ‘International Conference on Green Architecture’ will take place at the expo.
Paralell Technical Sessions will also be held on the closing day on important themes such as ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’, ‘Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure’, ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’, ‘Responsive Consumption and Production’.
