Bashundhara City Shopping Mall witnessed a huge rush of Eid shoppers on Friday, the first weekend of Ramadan, for their best buys there.
Shop owners at the super shopping centre said they have received satisfactory response from customers at the end of the first quarter of the fasting month.
Although sales usually gear up after 10 days of the Ramadan, many said, shopaholics managed to do their Eid shopping on the weekend.
Alamin Dewan, sales manager of a boutique, said business was satisfactory on Friday compared to other weekdays. “It seems Eid shopping begins at full speed. In the coming days, the shopping mall will be at its most vibrant.”
Like the past years, salwar-kamiz and panjabi are on top of the Eid shoppers’ choices.
Some traders said they have witnessed a huge crowd on the first holiday of the Ramadan, but most of them came to monitor market price.
They said shopping at Bashundhara City is always a happy experience as the first destination for fashion-conscious shoppers.
Buyers roam one store to another store to get their expected Eid wears.
Nayan, who came to the mall for shopping, said, “It’s wise to buy Eid wears in the first half of the Ramadan as the market gets too crowded after that.”
He waxed lyrical about the pleasant shopping experience at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall.
