Construction work of road funded by Bashundhara Group inaugurated in Narayanganj

A road construction work, financed by the country’s largest conglomerate Bashundhara Group, was inaugurated in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj on Sunday.
Councilor of Narayanganj City Corporation Foysal Sagar formally inaugurated the construction work in the morning.
The preliminary cost of the 360-metre long (Botala to Tikka More of Madangnaj) and 4.38-meter wide road construction is estimated at Tk 86 lakh. The road will be constructed by Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) with the facility of drainage system.
Bashundhara Group will bear all the cost.
A construction firm Messrs Ishak Mia and Samsuddin will complete the entire construction work.
Although Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy was supposed to attend the inauguration programe as chief guest but she could not present due to her illness.
Addressing the function, Councilor Foysal Sagar said, “Bashundhara Group works for the people and the country. It also has employed many people of the area, setting up a cement factory at Madanganj. The people have much confidence in Bashundhara Group.”
“We expect that the business conglomerate will continue its support upholding the spirit of the corporate social responsibilities.”
Mohsin Karim, General Manager of Bashundhara Cement, who was present as special guest, said, “Bashundhara Group works for the people and the country as well. Earlier, it had done some social works, including tree plant distribution in the area. The BG is financing for the road construction work as part of its social responsibilities.”
“Not only road, Bashundhara Group will also carry out other development works in the future,” he added.
Bashundhara Group cement factory plant in-charge Engineer Laxman Kumar Dey, General Manger Major (retd) Karim, additional Chief Engineer Sirajul Haque and City Corporation Councilor (reserved) Rejwana Haque Sumi were also present at the function.
