Bashundhara Cement now in Tripura

Bashundhara Cement, the flagship of Bashundhara Industrial Complex Ltd (BICL), has made its foray into the overseas market, with its export to the Indian state of Tripura recently.
Ten trucks of 4,000 cement bags were sent to Akhaura from the cement plant in Madanganj, Narayanganj, recently. The vehicles entered Agartala of India and shed its load in Tripura.
About cement exports to India, MZ Hussain Arzu, head of AHR Division of BICL, said Bashundhara Cement has already become a market leader as a super brand among the cement brands in Bangladesh.
“This premium Portland composite cement brand is in great demand not only locally, but also on the overseas market. The reason is simple—Bashundhara Cement uses the most modern technology with a blend of experienced professionals at the plant and excellent haulage service.”
ASM Shamim, head of transport of the BICL, said the transport procedure and dealing are good other than border-crossing time as transportation remains closed between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. It causes a waste of time.
Mohabbat Ali Chowdhury, head of quality assurance department, said Bashundhara Cement has the highest compressive strength and longevity. The plant offers an excellent manufacturing environment than the equals at home.
Hussain Arzu further said that the BICL is well-equipped to cater to the local demand in the wake of rapid industrialisation and urbanisation in Bangladesh.
The super brand is being used in building Padma Multipurpose Bridge.
Bashundhara Group has set up nine units of cement mills with an approximate capacity of 20,000 tonnes per day as the largest cement maker, Arzu added.
“We have the most advanced total solution lab in order to assess quality of imported raw materials and our finished products.”
