Bangladesh Pratidin highest circulated daily: Inu
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu told parliament on Wednesday that Bangladesh Pratidin is the highest circulated daily in the country.
“Bangladesh Pratidin has been the highest circulated daily with 5.53 lakh circulation,” Inu said, responding to a written question from Nurul Islam Omar.
Prothom Alo and Kaler Kantho have been the second and third largest circulated newspapers, with circulations of 5.1 lakh and 2.50 lakh respectively, he added.Among the English newspapers, the Daily Star is the highest circulated daily with a circulation of 41,592. And daily sun is the forth-highest circulated English newspaper, with a circulation of 33,800.
The Financial Express and the New Age have been the second and third highest circulated English dailies with circulations of 39,010 and 35,500 respectively.
The Daily Observer, The Independent, Dhaka Tribune, News Today and Bangladesh Today are on the list of top ten.
Besides, Janakantha has a daily circulation of 2.40 lakh, Jugantor 2.40 lakh, Amader Samoy 2.40 lakh, Ittefaq 2.38 lakh, Samakal 2.07 lakh, Bhorer Kagaj 1.61 lakh and Manabkantha 1.61 lakh.
The minister further said these newspapers have implemented the 8th Wage Board Award. There are 430 newspapers published in the country.
