Asian Tour: Bashundhara Bangladesh Open comes live tomorrow

The four-day long ‘ Asian Tour’ Bashundhara Bangladesh Open -2015 organised by Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) is all set to commence from tomorrow is being hosted at the prestigious Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC), which is the first time of International Golf Tournament is being held on home soil.
Bashundhara Group, the country’s leading business conglomerate, is the title sponsor of the international professional golf event involving prizes totalling US$300,000, with local hero Siddikur Rahman headlining the tournament on home ground.
However, BGF organised a Pro-Am (professional-armature) competition held on Tuesday at KGC where 25 selected professionals team up with 75 local amateur in a friendly match play, ahead of the tomorrow’s Bashundhara Bangladesh Open-2015 opener.
Additional Managing Director of Bashundhara Group Safwan Sobhan, teed off the event as chief guest.
Among others, Major General (retd) Mahbub Haider Khan, adviser of Bashundhara Group, MM Jashim Uddin, head of Branding and Marketing of Bashundhara Group, Bashundhara Group Adviser (PR) and Head of AHR Lt Col (retd) Khandaker Abdul Wahed, BGF Secretary General Brig Gen Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah, BGF Federation’s Junior Division President Maj Gen Md Masud Razzak were also present on the occasion.
Country’s golf ace Siddikur Rahman aside, a total of 150 Asian professionals from 25 nations, including 31 Bangladesh golfers, will participate in the four-day world-class golf meet.
The winner of Asian Tour will secure approximately 18% of the amount totalling US$300,000 as prize money. Some 65 players will receive prizes money in sliding scale.
The four-day meet will run till May 30.
