25 autistic children to participate in ‘Sheikh Russel School Table Tennis Tournament’
Twenty five physically challenged children will participate in the ‘Sheikh Russel School Table Tennis Tournament’ jointly organised by the Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation set to start on October 18 (Tuesday).
The Chairman of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra also the Managing Director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan Anvir informed this to the media through a press conference held on Sunday afternoon at the resident of the club chairman.
Club Chairman Sayem Sobhan requested all journalists and media organisations to come forward and cover the event in a broadly so that students and organiser inspired enough to organise more such event. He also urged to pray for the successful completion of the tournament.
“Please pray for us so that we can complete the competition successfully. I requested to all the journalists and media organisations to come forward and publish the competition news more enough. The numbers of playgrounds are not sufficient for the younger generation in Dhaka City. Most of the younger generation passes their leisure period playing video games.”
“The tournament will attract the younger generation. They will keenly participate in various sports competitions. 25 of the physically challenged/ autistic players confirmed their participation in the competition. We will assist them in future to become a successful player. You people give me a work plan so that I can take the initiative for them,” Sayem Sobhan Anvir added.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group and Chairman of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Dr Sajjad Haider, Adviser (International Affairs to MD of Bashundhara Group), Nayeem Nizam, Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, Director in-charge of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ismat Jamil Akanda Lavlu along with officials, journalists and some of the participants were present on the occasion.

A four-day long ‘Sheikh Russel School Table Tennis Tournament’ will start from October 18 to 21. Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, in association with Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation will organize the tournament ahead of the occasion of the 52nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, youngest son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Country’s one of the largest conglomerates Bashundhara Group will patronise the tournament and Bashundhara Cement will sponsor the competition.
